2008 Incident #24 11.06.08 1959UTC


Coastguards requested the launch of the Lyme Regis lifeboat to rescue a man who got into severe difficulties in the sea 250 metres off Broad Ledge, to the east of Lyme Regis.  Two local men, swam from the beach to help the 48 year old man before the lifeboat arrived to take him aboard.  All three men were taken ashore by the lifeboat crew.  The rescued man was seen by ambulance crew but did not need to go to hospital.  Local police officers were also called to the lifeboat station.
