The IRT was tasked to meet the arrival of the Blue Turtle dive boat in Lyme Regis harbour. The purpose was to ascertain the circumstances surrounding an earlier diving accident. At midday a female diver had to be airlifted from the boat by the Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 106. The casualty was suffering with decompression sickness, the bends, having made a rapid ascent to the surface. The casualty was airlifted to the decompression chamber at Poole were she remained for five hours, making a full recovery.
