The IRT was tasked to assist the land and air ambulance with the recovery of a teenager. The casualty was mountain boarding on the fields next to coast path, to the east of Charmouth. He had fallen and broken his left tibia. The air ambulance had to withdraw due to fading light. Due to the prevailing weather conditions (gusting force 9), the coastguard helicopter was unable to winch the injured person. The casualty was then stretchered by the coastguard team 250 metres to the awaiting ambulance for transfer to Dorset County hospital.
