The Initial Response Team was tasked to undertake a safety review of the landslip at Church Cliffs, just east of Lyme Regis. This is the site of a major landslip in May 2008. The recent wet weather has caused a number of further levels to collapse with the landslide now extending beyond the low water line. The resulting ‘mud’ is likley to trap any unwary fossil collectors or visitors. Earlier in the day, the Dorset police helicopter had taken a number of aerial photographs of the slip.
