Portland Coastguard tasked the team to assist the RNLI Lyme Regis ILB with recovery of the body of an elderly casualty who was found in the sea near Victoria Pier, Lyme Regis Harbour. Thanks to the prompt actions of a passer by, the male casualty, in his late 70s, was brought ashore quickly and received immediate medical attention in the lifeboat house. The local man had been reported to the police as missing about an hour before the discovery. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
