During the course of the previous call out, the team was re-tasked to attend to a male fisherman who had fallen over and had sustained cuts to the head. Fortunately, two geology students saw the accident which happened between Devonshire Head and Seven Rock Point, to the west of Lyme Regis. They had reported that he was drifting in and out of consciousness. Coastguard helicopter, Rescue 106 winched the casualty aboard and he was immediately taken to Dorchester A&E. The RNLI lifeboat managed to put a crew ashore to administer first aid and the coastguard had reached the casualty via the beach. The casualty’s nephew and the first informants were then helped safely from the beach due to the imminent high spring tide.
