2009 Incident #16 25.04.09 1534BST

Together with the RNLI inshore lifeboat, the coastguard Initial Response Team (IRT) was tasked to attend Charmouth beach.  A member of the public had reported that two canoeists had capsized 200 metres off shore in rough seas.  Fortunately, the strong on shore winds had blown the pair and their craft back to the shore.  The canoeists were located safe and well and were properly equipped with appropriate clothing and lifejackets.
