The IRT was tasked together with the RNLI to provide assistance to an 18′ fishing vessel taking on water at Humble Point. Having issued a mayday, the fisherman managed to make his own way into Axmouth Harbour with both the RNLI and the coastguard keeping a visual check on progress. The fisherman was well prepared with VHF radio, lifejackets and flares. A faulty stern tube was thought to be the cause of the water ingress.
