The IRT was tasked to investigate the apparent lack of signage east of Charmouth after a member of the public complained. He had become trapped in the mud below the major landslide and had managed to free himself. However, he was concerned that there was insufficient signage advising of the dangers of the thick mud below landslides and cliffs. The cliffs and seashore are dangerous along the Jurassic Coast. We would advise all visitors to the beaches to stay away from the mud, make your own risk assessment and be responsible.
