2010 Incident #19 21.04.10 1454UTC #1341

The Initial Response Team, ‘IRT’, was tasked to a report of a ‘vessel’ in distress, 200 metres offshore from the West Beach at Charmouth.  A member of public was concerned that the craft and its single occupant were struggling to make headway in very calm conditions.  The RNLI ‘Pearl of Dorset’ inshore lifeboat came alongside and brought the ‘vessel’ into the beach.  The vessel was hand built and not considered by all concerned to be seaworthy.
