2010 Incident #20 22.04.10 1251UTC #1345

The Initial Response Team, ‘IRT’, was tasked to a report of a 4.5m open fishing boat struggling to start the engine, 100 metres offshore from the Broad Ledge at Lyme Regis.  A member of public was concerned that the craft was drifting out of control.  The tender of a visiting yacht came alongside and took the vessel under tow.  The crew continued to try and start the engine which they managed eventually.  This was after they had further fouled the propeller.  Eventually the boat was towed into the harbour by another vessel.
