2010 Incident #62 22.10.10 2150UTC #5789

The Initial Response Team, the IRT, was tasked to assist South West Ambulance and Dorset Fire & Rescue with the medevacc of a 23-year-old male from Marine Parade in Lyme Regis.  The casualty had fallen from the roof of one of the beach huts.  He had stopped breathing and was badly injured.  Fortunately the two friends with him had promptly contacted the emergency services.  The fire brigade pulled the beach hut out allowing the paramedics to gain access to the casualty.  Coastguards landed Rescue 169, the Search and Rescue Sea King helicopter from Chivenor, North Devon on the beach.  The casualty was medevacced to Derriford Hospital, Plymouth.
