2010 Incident #67 17.11.10 0335UTC #5447

The Initial Response Team, the IRT, was tasked to assist a 49 year old  fisherman who had been swept into the sea whilst fishing from Monmouth beach, Lyme Regis.  He had managed to recover himself to the shore but was cold and disorientated.  The weather that night was appalling with a strong gale blowing from the south west together with very heavy rain and a heavy sea swell.  After being checked out by South West Ambulance Service, the fisherman was returned to his home address by the Coastguard.
