2011 Incident #4 26.02.11 0835UTC #530

The Initial Response Team, the ‘IRT’ was tasked to investigate a very large landslide to the west of the Golden Cap. A landslide, estimated at 120,000 tons had fallen from close proximity to the south west coast path. The subsequent landslides further down the cliff meant that debris had been strewn onto the beach. Despite the magnitude of the slide, a local expert indicated that there was unlikely to be any fossils revealed as the slip was mainly top soil and earth. The area was checked over to ensure that nobody was injured or that no livestock had been caught in the slide.
