2011 Incident #38 07.08.11 0804UTC #3749

The Initial Response Team, the IRT, was tasked to investigate reports of a small boat drifting to the east of Lyme Regis. The tender vessel was located and pulled ashore 900 metres west of Charmouth. There were no signs of occupancy. The tender was still attached to a lobster ‘pot’ buoy. It appeared that the securing rope had been frayed by the propeller of another boat. The vessel was brought back to the boat store in Charmouth. The harbour master at Lyme Regis was advised of the incident and the safe location of the revered tender.
