2011 Incident #45 16.10.11 1300UTC #5254

The Initial Response Team, the IRT, was tasked to investigate recent movement around a pinnacle of unstable rocks in the cliff face, 1 km east of Charmouth. The Coastguard were able to establish some fresh geological activity around the base of the pinnacle but nothing to indicate the immediate failure of the pinnacle.

The Coastguard team ask members of the local community to report any noticeable movements in the cliff face and rock falls to them. This will ensure that areas of potential hazard can be monitored and beach users to be forewarned of any dangers. The local Coastguard operations room can be contacted on 01305 760439.
