2012 Incident #13 22.04.12 0902UTC #1126

The IRT was tasked to investigate the circumstances surrounding the breakdown of a speedboat.  The boat’s engine had failed.  The RNLI Lyme Regis lifeboat recovered the vessel into Lyme Regis harbour.  The two persons on board had one lifejacket between two people; no VHF radio & no flares.  One of the occupants was very cold and was taken to the lifeboat station to be warmed up and checked over by a doctor.  Both were fine to leave shortly afterwards having been given appropriate safety advice.
