The Initial Response Team (IRT) was tasked to reports of four young men in trouble in a Zodiac dinghy west of seven Rock Point, Lyme Regis. Whilst the dinghy was kept under observation, it was apparent that it was danger of hitting the rocks. The Coastguard asked for the launch of the RNLI inshore lifeboat to assist. Whilst the lifeboat stood by, the dinghy eventually reached the beach with all its crew safe and well. None of the crew had lifejackets, flares or a VHF radio and were given appropriate safety advice.
